B&A Warehouse, Birmingham, AL, February 23, 2008—Open Creative Group was recently honored for creative excellence at the Birmingham Advertising Federation ADDY Awards. The advertising group received a total of nine awards, including three of only 34 coveted Gold ADDY Awards. Only two other shops took home more Golds, and nearly 450 entries were judged.

OCG received a Gold ADDY for the David N. Brush web site. A Gold ADDY was also given for OCG’s work on the Alabama Museums Association web site, as well as the baby announcement done for Martin Vizzina. Silver trophies were awarded for creative produced for clients Elegant Earth, Simplicity, Personal Best, and Ables Landscaping. A silver was also awarded for work done to promote OCG.

Open Creative Group is an innovative “anti-agency” concept which utilizes premium creative talent from around the nation to produce high-quality work for clients who prefer not to deal with the expense and waste often associated with traditional advertising agencies. OCG is comprised of ten creative professionals and is headed by Creative Director April Mraz, whose work has been recognized by Print Magazine and published in Creativity, and Strategy Director Alan Whitley, former JWT Creative Director on the United States Marine Corps brand.
